Get and share your education record: step by step

Check what you need to do to get your education record at your school.

  1. Step 1

    Schools will tell you about education records in year 11 before you move to a sixth form, college or a training provider. They will explain how you can see and use your education record information

    You’ll need the app so that you can be issued with your education record at school. Get the app from the Google Play or Apple app stores.

  3. Step 3

    You'll sit with a member of staff who knows you. They will generate a QR code for you to scan in your DfE education record app. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to get your education record.

  4. Step 4

    You can check your information in the DfE education record app.

  5. Step 5

    Education information such as your GCSE results will be added to your record when they become available.

    You can use your DfE education record app any time to check for updates such as results of official qualifications like GCSEs.

  6. Step 6

    Use your DfE education record app to share your education record with sixth forms, colleges or training providers.

    The sixth form or college you’re applying to will require some or all of the information in your education record. They will request this information from you and you will be notified on the app.
